Self-Petition for Permanent Residency

Self-Petition for Permanent Residency

Many individuals involved in research, the sciences and business among others will have the option to self-petition. Only an employer may sponsor a full-time researcher as EB-1 Outstanding Researcher or Multi-National Executive or Manager. Individuals may either be sponsored by an employer or self-petition however for EB-1 Extraordinary Ability (EB-1) when their record of accomplishments evidences their recognition at the top percent of those in their field, and for National Interest Waiver (EB-2) when their work is national in scope and impacts the national interest of the U.S. for example in health care, medicine, technology or other field. Ed White counsels individuals on the permanent residency self-petition process and one-step filing strategy as well as how to gather critical evidence including letters from peers.
